Vision, Mission & MottoOur VisionOur college is situated in Helencha, about twenty km away from Bongaon Sub-divisional town, which is actually adjacent to Indo-Bangladesh Border. After partition of India in 1947, a large number of refugees were settled in Helencha-Bagdah area. This area is mostly inhabited by socially and economically backward classes, i.e. Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe and Other Backward classes. In 2005 when the College was established, local people decided to name the College after the Father of Indian Constitution Dr. B. R. Ambedkar who tirelessly devoted his entire life for the empowerment of socially and economically backward classes of India. Dr. B. R. Ambedkar laid emphasis on education to ameliorate the conditions of the Dalits. To enshrine the ideology of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar on education, our vision is “to develop an original student who should be able to weigh evidence to follow and criticize argument and put his own value on authorities”. Our Mission“We may forego material benefits but we cannot forego our right and opportunity to reap the benefit of higher education to the fullest extent as education is the greatest material benefit”. -------Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Most of our students belong from SC, ST and OBC and many of them are first generation learners. Therefore it is our prime objective to enlighten them and offer them a firm foothold in the Society. This institution aims to inculcateethical and moral values among the students and encourages them to become capable of handling their careers and lives effectively. Our highly qualified faculties and energetic staff are committed to our mission so that our students can break the narrow barrier of social prejudice and feels truly empowered. Our Motto स्वाध्यायान् मा प्रमदः(Strive constantly towards true learning and progress) Dr.B.R.Ambedkar stressed spreading education as the only hope among downtrodden for their upliftment in the society. He considered education as the most powerful weapon/agent for bringing about desired changes in society and a prerequisite for organized effort for launching any social movement in modem times. For him education was an instrument to liberate the people from illiteracy, ignorance and superstitions and thus enable them to fight against all forms of injustice, exploitation and oppression.Such progress will be possible if we constantly strive for education, self-learning and knowledge. We should never stop to self-learning and education, never be idle in our studies and never neglect our duties. Thus rightly said in Ishopanishad- “विद्ययाऽमृतमश्नुते” (immortality can be enjoyed by the pursuit of knowledge)and in Vishnu Puran ‘सा विद्या या विमुक्तये’ (Education is that which liberates.) |
