Semester I (B.A. General) DSC 1A/GE 1 Philosophical Foundation of Education After completion, the course the learners will be able to: Discuss the meaning, nature, scope and aims of education (i.e. Individualistic, Socialistic and Democratic view). Understand the contributions of Philosophy in the discipline of Education. Explain the factors of education, their relationships and forms of Education likes Formal, Informal and Open Education. Develop insights to apply the above competencies in the practices of education. Discuss value and Education, their relationship and importance of Values in Education. To be acquainted with the contribution of great educators or educational philosophies of Rabindranath Tagore, S. Radhakrishnan and F. W. A. Froebel.

Semester II (B.A. General) DSC 1B/GE 2 Psychological Foundation of Education After completion, the course the learners will be able to: Discuss the Relationship between Psychology and Education, Branches of psychology and uses. Describe the concept, nature and Contribution of Educational Psychology. Know the patterns of different aspects of human developments and relate this knowledge with Education. Explain the influence of growth and development in education. Describe Importance of Piaget’s Cognitive Development and Kohlberg’s Moral Development in Education. Discuss concept, nature, types, and determinants of Attention and role of Attention in Education. Discuss concept, nature, types of Memory, process of Memorization and Causes of Forgetting. Semester III (B.A. General) DSC 1C/GE 3 Development of Educational Policies since Independence After completion, the course the learners will be able to: Acquaint with the education system of modern India and with the education system of colonial India. Recognize the development of education at different levels. Determine the current trends of education in India. Identify the important problems and their needed solutions in the field of education in India. Discuss the development of education in India in historical perspectives. Programme Specific Outcomes:

The newborn infant is a helpless human being. He has neither any friend nor enemy. He is not aware of the social customs and traditions. He has influenced by the informal and formal agencies of Education. Education is able to instill in the child a sense of maturity and responsibility by bringing in him the desired changes according to his needs and demands of ever changing society, of which is an integral part. Not only the education culturists’ the individual and help him in his needs all over the world. Thus, Education develops the individual like a flower, which distributes its fragrances all over the environment. In this sense, Education is that conductive process which drags a person from darkness, poverty and misery by developing his individuality in all its aspects – Physical, Mental, Emotional and Social. With this type of all round development, he becomes a responsible, dynamic, resourceful, enterprising citizen of strong good moral character who uses all his capacities contributing is best to national honor, National glory, National culture, and civilization of the nation of which is a part, an integral part. Education educates the person’s social and cultural needs and creates a perfect personality. Education is a process, which transmits accumulated knowledge, values, and skills from generation to another. In general, sense, Education is an act or experience, which has a formative effect on the character, mind, and physical ability of the people. Faith, diligent practice, increases knowledge. Human life is bound to the synthesis of creation. In an attempt to grasp him deeply, the analysis has become inevitable. From this analysis, it has noticed that, in the human life, two aspects are present. One is the direction of its Biological Aspect and another is the direction of its Sociological Aspect. In this combination of both sides, his life flow remains intact. Thinkers think that the social or cultural needs of the people that are inherent in human life can satisfied only by Education. People are full of life through Education. Education is the general sense is any act or experience that has a formative effect on the mind, character or physical ability of an individual. In its technical sense, Education is the process by which society deliberately transmits its accumulated knowledge, skills and values from one generation to another.

B.A. Education or Bachelor of Arts in Education is an Undergraduate Academic Degree Course. Education is the means through which the aims and habits of a group of people lives on from one generation to the next. It can pursue either as a Regular course or as a Distance Education Course, the duration being the same, unless mentioned by the institute. This degree course meant for future educators and education administrators. After completion of the course, Graduates may get opportunities in areas like Museums, Public relations and Journalism, Editing and Publishing houses, Educational departments, Creative, Technical writing, Home tuition, etc. and work in positions like Teacher, Advisor, Novelist, Public relation journalist, etc. They should be of the mind to lead and participate in discussions and have confidence in their own opinions, work with others when presenting ideas and information. The major job option after this course is school level teaching since it is a course specially designed to fulfill the prerequisites of a teacher at the high school level.

B.A. Education Course Suitability: Students should know about educational issues, theories of learning, equality and diversity, education policy and practice. They must have creativity and education, understanding of education in Philosophical, Psychological, Communication Skill, Social, Political and Economic contexts. Those who want to go for further higher studies also are suitable for it. Students those who are interested in Education and its related areas, etc. are most suitable for this course. Those who are willing to go for teaching fields at higher degree level i.e. college and university level both in private and govt. institutions. They should have good communication and interpersonal skills, which are necessary for it. They developed his humanity, honesty and good behavior through Education. They should also be hard worker, patient and up to date with knowledge in their field of career. B.A. Education Course Beneficial: There are excellent prospects in teaching within primary education, including subject specific teaching. Newly qualified Teachers (NQTs) have one of the highest employment rates of all graduates and are in great demand, especially those who are in trained in particular subjects. At the secondary level, teachers are required to processes a degree in their functional area, in addition to the Bachelors in Education degree. One can take a various jobs types like Tutors, Researchers, CEO of School, Day-Care Centre, Camp Organizer, Part Time Consultants in related fields like Economists can offer their expertise to Companies, Engineers And Academic Labs can develop products for Private Industry; Humanities, Professors can contribute articles to Newspapers and Magazines. They can go for further studies for Master Degree and then for research works. They can go for higher degree programmes in respective subjects such as Masters Degree and then for research work. They should work independently, develop time managements, skills,, for example, when meeting essay deadlines; plan and research written work; articulate knowledge and understanding of texts, concepts and theories.
